Friday Fill-Ins #10

And...here we go!

1. You do your thing; I do mine and sometimes it works better that way.

2. The poor management of the company I'm working at  is what's been on my mind on and off all day.

3. Remember when we were kids? We used to run wild and free.

4. Champagne, Charlton and Chezelle are three of my favorite obsessions :-)

5. During the last year of college was the start of my bf-gf relationship with hubby.

6. Chatting with my high school crush earlier puts a smile on my face.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleep early, tomorrow my plans include attending a wedding and Sunday, I want to wake up early, go to Church and mall afterwards!

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend!

I Am Logical

I have been wracking my brain trying to solve the mysteries over at Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst and now I need a break. Playing at Blogthings is enough for me to relax my mind a bit and I am surely glad to know that my brain is logical.

How about yours? I would love to see your results as well so head over at Blogthings, take the quiz and don't forget to share it to me.  Thanks!

Your Brain is Logical

You are a very facts and figures oriented person. You don't get clouded by emotion.

You like to understand how things work, and you're always collecting data of some sort.

You are a critical thinker. You are look at all the facts before you make a decision.

You aren't likely to change your mind once it's made up, but new facts could sway you - emotional appeals could not.

Miss Universe 2010 Winners

I shouted with joy when Miss Philippines Venus Raj made it to the Top 15.  It was a bit thrilling when the Top 5 were called as Miss Philippines was the last candidate called.  I was literally shrieking then.  During the question and answer portion, I admit I was a little bit disappointed with her answer and I still am.  She may have exuded confidence while answering but her answer is just too safe.  I just feel only a little bit bad because she has gone far and her chance to bring home the crown was wasted.  I understand that she was just nervous.  It was distinct in her shaking voice and perhaps her mind went blank.  Nevertheless, I am still very proud and very happy for her.  Out of 83 ladies representing their countries, she bagged the 4th Place.  Congratulations, Venus Raj!

Here are the list of winners of Miss Universe 2010, the 59th edition of the most prestigious beauty pageant held last August 23, 2010 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, US.  Congratulations!

Good Luck, Venus!

Good Luck to our very own candidate, Miss Philippines Venus Raj.  Of course, I'm placing my bet on her among a few others. I hope she will bring home the crown with her.  People might forget the nightmare of the hostage taking that happened yesterday.  Go, Philippines! Go, Venus!

Mad About Math

One time, my mother-in-law barged in our house, dumped her books on the table and went to drink a glassful of water. She was obviously steaming, muttering something incomprehensible under her breath. I was both worried and afraid that I instantly scanned my mind for any faults I have unintentionally done. There was nothing I can think of.

When asked what she was mad about, she said it was her students. She’s a college math instructor by the way and she just dismissed her class before she went barging into our house. She said she just can’t believe her students have graduated high school. She just gave them a remedial exam and still a lot of them failed. How in the world will they pass when they don’t even know the basics of arithmetic? They cannot answer even the simplest prime factorization. Even equivalent fractions and equations seem alien to them. They are stuck on these topics and they cannot proceed to the next. I think she said linear programming and something about tutorial groups but I am not certain. I am certain though that she is most pissed off with the public high school where her students graduated from.

I pity my MIL but my heart goes out more to those students. I think our government should focus more on the quality of education it gives to the students on public schools. I believe that it is through better and quality education that we will have the greater chance of economic development. I have strong faith in the new administration and I know this issue will be addressed soon. Before I end this, let me quote what Audrey Hepburn said, “A quality education has the power to transform societies in a single generation, provide children with the protection they need from the hazards of poverty, labor exploitation and disease, and given them the knowledge, skills, and confidence to reach their full potential".

Enjoy your weekend!

My Heart is Contented

The other side of my bed is empty right now as hubby is currently on a workshop/seminar at Davao City. I may be missing him but my heart is contented with him. I'm looking forward for Thursday when he's coming home. *wink*

You Have a Content Heart

Your heart doesn't crave much. It doesn't take much to make your heart happy.

You may or may not have found love, but either way, your heart is at peace.

If your heart has been broken, you are over it. Your heart has no scars.

Your heart is open to anything. You have a lot of love to give to the world.

BC Bloggers 4

Photobucket
If you are wondering what BC Bloggers is, this is just some sort of exchanging links with the other bloggers but with a lot of ease.  You don't have to worry about asking for other bloggers to exchange links with you as Mommy Paula will integrate all links.  You just have to fill up the application form and at the end of the specified period, she will email you all the members of the blogs with their specified links in HTML format.  All you have to do is just to create a page or a widget and paste all the links.  Easy right? If you are interested, you might as well make a post now as this was supposed to end last August 12.  Thankfully, Mommy Paula extended it so what are you waiting for?

Stunning Sonya

I have considered a lot of brands, models, color, specifications and even the price for the laptop I planned to buy as a birthday gift to myself. A bulb lighted up when I have thought of my previous Acer Aspire laptop, Ace. I sold it because I want a pink Sony Vaio. I've thought that if I buy another brand/model/color, it will end up just like Ace. Hence, I gave in to my heart's ultimate desire, a pink Sony Vaio then!

I fancied the Sony S125F model when I saw it at the mall because of it's 13.3" screen size. Unfortunately, the only available color is white and black and I want pink. I asked the salesman if I can order a pink one and he said I have to wait for 15 days. I said I am willing to wait that long. I followed it up after 7 days and I was so disappointed. They said that I have to wait for another week but it seems they are uncertain of its arrival. Luckily, I found one but of a different model at Facebook PhP 20,000 less than what I found at the mall. Perfect! It looks like this pinky laptop is really for me.

I got it last Monday but I just blogged about it now because it was under observation. I have said previously on my last post that I've read reviews that Sony laptops have heat problems and cooling fan failure. It's wrong. I can put it on my lap for hours without getting my skin burned. I have no problems with it so far. It's just way so cool and I'm loving every inch of it.

Meet Sonya, my new blogging buddy, a Sony Vaio VPCCW21FX.
