Sis Wants To Go Home

I talked with my sister who is in London the other day and she said she wants to go home. She is getting homesick and depressed at the same time. She has more idle time now as she is seldom called for work having her a lot of time to fret. What makes the situation worse is her grumpy and OC land lady.

You see, my younger sister is living with a friend and her friend’s aunt. This aunt owns the apartment but they share with the rent and other expenses. Unfortunately, this aunt was just recently divorced. It seems like she is irritable with almost everything and everyone making my little sister’s and her friend’s life miserable. My poor little sister now wants to get out of the house and live somewhere else. She and her friend want to move out and look for an apartment but she said they can’t afford it with only the two of them. They have to look for roommates who could help them with the rent. I told her she could use an apartment search engine online to look for apartments as she is still new with the place. As for roommates, they can ask their classmates or friends at work. I hope they could find roommates and an apartment as soon as possible as they can’t stand their cranky landlady anymore. I also hope this aunt could move on and get a life but if she chooses to be miserable I hope she won’t drag my little sister and her friend with her.

Soon To-Be Car

If you remember, I have mentioned in my previous post that hubby and I planned to buy a new car. The last time I asked when would that be, he only answered me, “Soon”. It was quite unclear. Now, I can see the sun in the horizon as he said that perhaps it would be in May or in June. I once again searched the internet for probable car models that would soon be in our possession. I tried Nissan cars first. They were all beautiful but nothing caught my interest. I fancy Toyota Prius and Vokswagen Golf as I like their sleek designs. I don’t know yet anything about cars so I just choose on how it looks. When I showed them to hubby, he said both cars are not perfect in the farm where we live.

So I tried to look up one of his target model, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, and I found out that it is indeed perfect for us and where we live. It is stylish enough to be brought in the city yet tough enough to tackle rugged terrain. It has a four-wheel-drive mode designed to improve traction in slippery or inconsistent conditions like gravel. And the most important thing that I really like is that one can choose whether to use automatic transmission or manual transmission. I am not choosy with cars; as long as it can take me where I want to be, I’m fine with it. Hence, we have both agreed that it would be our choice, for now. I just hope it is not so expensive so we could afford it. TGIF!

MM: Light On

I haven’t watched a single episode of this season’s American Idol. I lost interest in watching television with the constant power interruption. However, last season, I fell in love with David Cook and his manly look. I swoon every time I see him perform with his guitar. I so love his voice! I love his version of “Always Be My Baby” but I will feature that song later. Right now what I feel appropriate is the song title “Light On” as electricity just came back minutes ago. Enjoy listening and Happy Music Monday!

Quick Recipe For Mangoes

Mango is a tropical plant that has lots of health benefits aside from the fact that it is sweet and juicy. It is a rich source of Vitamin A, E and Selenium which can help protect against heart disease and other ailment. It is effective in relieving clogged pores of the skin and is also valuable to combat acidity and poor digestion. It is also high in antioxidants and low in carbohydrates.
Pregnant women and people with anemia are advised to eat this fruit regularly as it is high in iron. It is also beneficial to people with kidney problems, fever, respiratory problems and constipation. Recent studies suggest they are also powerful cancer-fighters.

Anyhow, mango is one of my favorite fruits so imagine my delight when a friend gave us a boxful of yellow mangoes yesterday. However, all of the mangoes are already ripe. We have to consume it right away or it would just rot and it would be such a waste to see it in the trash can. It would be best to eat them fresh and natural but it would also take us days to consume all of them. Thus, I have decided to make quick recipes out of yummy, yellow mangoes.

Since I am not a good cook and the pantry is already empty, I have to make an easy recipe with fewer ingredients. Off I went to the nearest mini store and bought three ingredients; condensed milk, all purpose cream and graham crackers. I have decided to make the creamy Mango Float and the cool and refreshing Mango Shake. Oohh, so perfect for the hot weather, right? Anyway, I still have a few mangoes left and I have ran out of quick recipe ideas, so if you have any quick and easy recipes for yellow mangoes, I would greatly appreciate it if you can share some of them with me. Thank you in advance.

By the way, don’t forget your daily serving of fruit like mango as it is good for your health. Happy Sunday!

Who's To Blame?

Oh, my! Oh, my! I have signed up to another online casino site again! Is this getting bad? Is this some indication I'm getting addicted? I'm blaming this to whoever introduced me to online casinos months ago but honestly, I can't remember who. Wait. Did someone introduce me to it or was it just me? I can’t remember that one, either. LOL. Well, I can't blame others but only myself, right? However, I don’t think this is getting bad as I’m only playing for fun unlike hubby who plays for real money. I’m just mighty glad he’s not as hooked to it as I am.

If you are wondering if I enjoy playing casino with no real money, of course, I do. In fact, it is like a tutorial for me. Before, I don’t know how to play poker, baccarat, etc. I only know the easy games like slots and roulette. Just by merely playing the free fun games, I now understand how to play them. As of the moment, I enjoy playing for fun as I am learning but I don’t know for how long. Time will come I will also try my luck with real money just like hubby. So, should I stop playing now? Hmmm. *thinking*. Perhaps later, when I am done with my practice tutorial. I would make sure by then my debit card is empty. LOL.

Anyway, before you sign up to any online casino sites, be sure to check its review. Online Casino Spotlight provides complete reviews of the best online casino, exclusive bonuses, casino games rules and strategies. It also has an independent rating of the best ten online casinos as experienced by their professional gamblers. You will surely be guided on what online casino site to sign up on. So, should I say sign up now? No. It's your choice so you can't blame me when you get hooked. LOL. Enjoy your weekend!

Friday Fill-Ins #4

And...here we go!

1. I'd like some peace of mind.
2. One of my most favorite romantic memories is strolling hand in hand in the seashores of Boracay.
3. Last night, I had molo soup for dinner.
4. Sorry for the late reply, I don't have cellphone load.
5. Can we stop this now?
6. One of my worst temptations is eating; dessert, junk food, chocolate... well, FOOD is really hard to resist!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to breastfeed my baby, tomorrow my plans include staying away from my baby until dusk so I will not be tempted to feed her as I will be breastfeeding her on evenings from now on and Sunday, I want to go grocery shopping which I haven't done in more than two weeks!

Waiting Game At The Airport

After almost a month without communication with my younger sister who studies and works in London at the same time, I finally got the chance to chat with her early this week. Although she is still suffering from homesickness, I am glad she is now more relaxed and settled. She had already adjusted herself to the climate and culture which was entirely strange to her approximately six months ago. Surely, time flies fast. It seems it was just yesterday when she told me how she felt the moment she stepped down from the plane and set her foot on London Heathrow Airport.

She and her twelve would-be classmates were all strangers to the place that time. They were all happy, excited, afraid and nervous all at the same time. Twice nervous, my sis said, since they have to undergo an interview with the immigration. They waited for 2-3 hours for the interview and luckily they all passed. My sister felt like she was dreaming then that she has to pinch herself twice to wake herself up. She just can’t believe she was already in London, one of the world's largest financial center. Anyway, they were all tired and drained from the interview that they are all ready to go home. They went outside to wait for the train that would take them to Luton and they were shocked at how cold the air was. Hours passed yet no train arrived so they have decided to take the coach. They were almost freezing by the time the coach arrived. It seems like they are on a waiting game at the airport. If only they have pre-booked a European airport transfer that would transport them from the airport to their flat, they wouldn’t have to endure the coldness which was entirely new to them. Good thing, they were all happy and light-headed by that time that they didn’t mind their tired and cold state.

If you don't like waiting games, the next time you plan your travels, be sure to pre-book your airport transfers from dependable companies like Shuttle Direct . Time is surely precious that is best spent on something we love to do rather than on waiting.

MM: Wooden Heart

I don't know why but this song keep popping on my mind every time I put my baby to sleep. What a lullaby! LOL.

Wooden Heart
by: Elvis Presly

Can't you see
I love you
Please don't break my heart in two
That's not hard to do
'Cause I don't have a wooden heart
And if you say goodbye
Then I know that I would cry
Maybe I would die
'Cause I don't have a wooden heart
There's no strings upon this love of mine
It was always you from the start
Treat me nice
Treat me good
Treat me like you really should
'Cause I'm not made of wood
And I don't have a wooden heart

Muss i denn, muss i denn
Zum Stadtele hinaus
Stadtele hinaus
Und du, mein schat, bleibst hier?

There's no strings upon this love of mine
It was always you from the start
Sei mir gut
Sei mir gut
Sei mir wie du wirklich sollst
Wie du wirklich sollst
'Cause I don't have a wooden heart

No Casino Games For Awhile

For more than two weeks, I have no internet connection so I wasn’t able to do my usual stuff with regards to it. The internet has become a big part of my daily life that I feel almost crazy with boredom without it. No blogging, no blogwalking, no online shopping, no chatting and definitely no online casino games. *yawn*.

Good thing I have downloaded pc games before our modem’s power adapter blasted. I got myself hooked with two of them, Farm Frenzy 3 American Pie and Plants vs. Zombies. For hours, I would play either of the two that sometimes I forget the time and it’s already dawn by the time I notice it. Luckily, I don’t have to prepare my kids for school or else they end up late. Well, the two games definitely killed the boredom away. I have already completed all the levels of both games and I am glad internet is back otherwise I would get bored again.

Now that I am back online, I am back to my daily internet stuff and that includes playing online slot games, my favorite casino game. I first got hooked to online casino games months ago when I enjoyed my first try with online roulette. From then on when I’m done with blog walking, off I visit online casino sites. I even introduced online casino to hubby who also got hooked with it and who gets lucky once in a while. Anyway, I am glad there are gambling blogs like LonelyHeartsCasino.com that provides free help to players like me and hubby to find safe and fun online casino sites. This blog is authored by Mike Gattor and he has his own list of trusted online casino sites that are ranked by professional gamblers. With blogs like his, I am sure I would not end up in unsafe casino sites. Right? Anyhow, it's Sunday, perfect to laze around and play casino games with hubby. Enjoy your Sunday as well. ;)

Little Angel AT Three Months

My cute and lovable little angel is already three months old last april 8. She is now one kilogram heavier than last month at 7.1 kgs. She is still sweet tempered and sleeps most of the time. She definitely loves the attention she's getting and how she loves to be talked to. If we leave her all by herself or if we just simply ignore her, she would call our attention by letting out one small cry. The moment we talk to her, she would readily give her open-mouthed smile and coos and gurgles as if wanting to talk. Oh how she brightens our day!

By the way, we had her ears pierced that day. I was quite nervous beforehand as she might wail in pain, but I was so glad she didn't. I was so proud of her then as she only cried a little. She is now wearing a hypoallergenic earrings with her birth stone which is Garnet.

How your baby's growing:

Your baby has been able to recognize you since he was just a few days old, but now he may actually be able to show it. About half of babies this age begin to exhibit an obvious recognition of their parents.

Your baby will probably continue to smile at strangers, especially when they look him straight in the eye and coo or talk to him. But he's starting to sort out who's who in his life, and he definitely prefers you, your partner, and perhaps a few others.

Your baby may quiet down and make eye contact with you, or he may search for you in a room and move his arms in excitement or smile when he finds you. He may even find your scent calming and comforting.

It's Good To Be Back... Again!

One of the reasons why I was away from the blogosphere for more than two weeks is that there was completely no internet connection at home aside from the fact that I am super busy with the ongoing campaign for the national elections. Not that there is a problem with the internet line, I think our modem's power adopter short circuited one time when there was a power interruption. I tried to ask a friend if our modem will work with his power adopter and I was mighty glad it did. So when I went to the city yesterday, I bought a power adopter that is fit for our modem and I certainly jumped with joy when I was able to connect to the internet last night. Unfortunately, my laptop is low on battery. Just like our modem's power adapter, its charger also short circuited. That means, I won't be able to use my laptop until I buy a new charger which I have heard is not cheap. For the meantime, I will be using my hubby's laptop until I have acquired a new charger. I won't be online the whole day but I will be online every day night. Wow! It really feels good to be back again. Yeah!

By the way, I would just like to say a big "HELLO" to all my online friends. Special mention to Mariuca, Gagay, Monica, LJ, Ane, David, Bingkee, Bill and others. I really missed all of you! See you around. *muah*
