Perfect Vision

I am so glad that at my age I still have a perfect 20/20 vision. However, I am fully aware that a few years from now my eyesight would weaken and it would no longer be perfect. Well, that would be the time I would visit an Optometrist and Zenni Optical, the #1 online Rx glasses store. I have read from Eric's Review of Zenni Optical that they have quality eyeglasses, durable and comfortable at the same time. Also, the eyeglasses are so affordable that you can buy a pair for as low as $8. Indeed, Zenni Optical has the lowest price progressive Glasses but I hope I won't be needing their eyeglasses real soon. I still want to enjoy my perfect vision and a decade more would be just... perfect.

I Need Back Pain Treatment

“Ouch”

That was the very first word that came out of my mouth the moment I woke up early this morning. I felt a sudden pain down at my back when I tried to sit up. I was still groggy from sleep so it didn’t register right away why I have this pain. I lay back on the bed until I finally remembered that I have been lifting a lot of furniture yesterday to clean the thick collection of dust piled underneath them. Well, this is what you get after hours of spring cleaning with poor bending and lifting technique. My back muscles definitely got tired and strained. Although I have had several back pains in the past, I never treated them. Back pain caused by muscle pain is not a severe case so I just rest and let the pain pass as it will eventually fade after a few days. This time though I need immediate back pain treatment as I have a baby to take care of and there is increased pain every time I carry her so I browsed the net and these are what I found.

• Nonprescription medication like Ibuprofen is an excellent medication for the short-term treatment of low back pain. However, it would be best to talk with the doctor about using this medication for a long time because of the risk of ulcers and gastrointestinal bleeding.

• Ice pack or heat pack work on some people although not proven effective may also be harmful. Don’t place the heat pack directly on skin.

• Prolonged bed rest is associated with longer recovery period so it is best to get moving and resume to normal or near normal activity.

• Stretching or activities that place additional strain on the back are strongly discouraged

• Sleeping with a pillow between the knees while lying on one side may increase comfort. Some doctors even recommend lying on your back with a pillow under your knees.

• Sleeping using an orthopedic pillow or neck pain pillow as they are designed to solve or prevent orthopedic problems related to the neck and spine.

Well, these self care at home treatment are certainly easy to follow. Together with body massage, surely, in a couple of days I will bid back pain goodbye. Bye Bye.

MM: Summer Of 69

It's summer 2010 and the heat is so intense. If only the beach is a few meters away, it would be nice to dip in the cold water all day long. Anyway, what are your plans for the summer? If you'll ask me, none yet. Let's just wait and see what will happen in the coming days. For the meantime, enjoy this song from Bryan Adams. Happy Music Monday to all!

Summer of '69

Bryan Adams

I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played 'til my fingers bled
It was summer of '69

Me and some guys from school
Had a Band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit and Jody got married
I shualda known we'd never get far

Oh when I lock back now
That was seemes to last forever
And if I had the choice
Ya - I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life

(CHORUS)

Ain't no use in complainin'
When you got a job to do
Spent my evenin's down at the drive in
And that's when I met you

Standin on a mama's porch
You told me that you'd wait forever
Oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was no or never
Those were the best days of my life

(Chorus) Back in Summer of '69

Man we were killin' time
We were young and restless
We needed to unwind
I guess nothin' can last forever, no

And now the times are changin'
Look at everything that's come and gone
Somethimes when I play that old six-string
I think about ya wonder what went wrong

Standin' on a mama's porch
You told me it would last forever
Oh the way you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life

(Chorus) Back in summer of '69

Still Feeling Lucky

Wohooo! I am now 10,000 ECs richer after I won Mariuca's 50,000 EC giveaway. The very simple guessing game ended last night in which I won 3rd place. Now I really believe my contest jinx was broken. Thanks to all my friends who wished me luck.

Anyway, in casinos, if you are lucky, you should not stop playing. Right? Good thing LadyJava is having a blog makeover giveaway and I'm going to try my luck again this time. Who knows I might win again? Also, hubby has been bugging me about starting a new blog after I told him about my online earnings. I am still undecided until now because I don't think I can handle two blogs. So this contest would surely help me decide immediately, that is if I win. If not, well, I have to think it over and over as it is not easy to manage a blog much more if its two. In case I would finally decide to add another blog, I would certainly ask LadyJava to design my blog for me. I love her work and she's an expert when it comes to blog makeovers. I just hope it's free. LOL. Anyhow, I'm crossing my fingers again on this one. Good Luck to me!

Dead Tired

Its summer here but I just spent the whole day spring cleaning which means to thoroughly clean the house from top to bottom. I am now dead tired after hours of scrubbing the floor, washing the windows, wiping the walls, moving furniture and purging my home of unnecessary things. Whew! I can’t almost bend my back and to think we are not done yet. We have one more floor to go and I am doubly glad we are postponing it on Monday. That means I have a day to relax and rest my aching back perhaps while playing on online casinos or just simply blogwalking. I am looking forward for Monday, not on spring cleaning but to see my home spic and span. Have a beautiful Sunday everyone.

Friday Fill-Ins #3

Time sure does fly fast and it's Friday again. Time for Friday Fill-Ins

And...here we go!

1. Today I will be downloading more PSP games.
2. You say "Can I buy you dinner?" and I say why not?

4. At my own free will it's free Pastry Day til 1030 Friday!
5. People say that what we're all seeking is eternal happiness and world peace.
6. The image I cherish most is my family in the dining room convulsively laughing at ones jokes or crazy stories while eating.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to try our neighbor's buko salad, tomorrow my plans include cleaning the entire house and Sunday, I want to try baking the new recipe I just found at a local magazine!

Custom Cars On Exhibit

While walking hand in hand at the mall two weeks back, hubby and I happened to pass by the magnificent display of both vintage and futuristic custom cars and bikes. We were both amazed at the gigantic tires and enhanced dashboards and steering wheels not to mention the artistic body paints. We could hardly pass as car enthusiasts and onlookers are literally swarming the place meticulously inspecting each car's majestic design. The creators who are obviously exuding confidence are busy answering inquiries from curious onlookers. The proud owners and event organizers are so engrossed in entertaining other car enthusiasts inside the logo canopy. The exhibitors didn't use trade show flooring but logo mats are scattered here and there with the car creator's company name. We didn't ask questions but we did pause as I drooled over the red Hummer. I even pictured myself haughtily driving it. I find it rather cool for a lady to drive a big car. Don't you think so? Oh, as if I could really drive. LOL.

Nevertheless, we didn't stay long in the area as we have a movie to catch on but I did ask him when he would teach me how to drive. He only said soon. Oh well, I just hope soon is really soon as my hands are itching to maneuver the steering wheel. Glancing at the cars, I yearned again for a car of our own. Soon. Real soon.

MM: Faithfully

16-year old Jovit Baldivino stunned the judges and audience alike in Pilipinas Got Talent as he performed a heartfelt rendition of "Faithfully" by The Journey. Surely another talent Filipinos will be proud of. Good Luck to this young man with a small built but with a large powerful voice.

Happy Music Monday to all!

Faithfully
The Journey

Highway run into the midnight sun
Wheels go round and round
You're on my mind
Restless hearts sleep alone tonight
Sending all my love along the wire
They say that the road
ain't no place to start a family
Right down the line it's been you and me
And loving a music man
ain't always what it's supposed to be

Girl
you stand by me
I'm forever yours
faithfully
Circus life under the big top world
We all need the clowns to make us laugh
Through space and time
Always another show
Wodering where I am lost without you
And being a part ain't easy on this love affair
Two strangers learn to fall in love again
I get the joy of rediscovering you

Oh girl
you stand by me
I'm forever yours
faithfully
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
oh oh oh oh oh oh
faithfully
I'm still yours
I'm forever yours
Ever yours
faithfully

Frustrated Shopper

Shopping with the kids around is fun and tiring as well. You just can't expect it to be hassle-free. They are just normal kids who love to play, always restless and noisy. I certainly understand that or I would go crazy if I wouldn't. I'm just glad I was able to buy what they need incident-free.

Anyway, after I was done shopping for the kids, I sent them off to look for toys while I did a little shopping of my own. I have all the intention of buying a new blouse when I saw a young lady meticulously scrutinizing an elegant evening dress. I fancied the dress in an instant and silently hoped the lady would put it down. She did. I snatched it at once and went to the fitting room without bothering to look at the size. Much to my dismay, it didn't fit. I asked for the next size, which is the last size they have but still it didn't fit. Annoyingly, I didn't realize I had put on so much weight. I was so frustrated with my size I didn't bother to look for a blouse. I might get even more frustrated. As a result, I went home empty handed and worse, in a bad mood.

Well, I feel better now after moping about my weight the whole night last night. I have decided to get real serious with my diet. As of the moment, I will just satisfy myself with browsing over the glamorous evening dresses online. I found out ElegantMart.com has a lot to choose from coaxing me all the more to loose weight as soon as possible.

Business 2 Blogger

While blogwalking earlier, I found a new (note: still 1 month old) paid to post site that intrigues me and enticed me to try and sign up. I don't know yet if it is a scam or not, but I have nothing to lose, yet, right? Just a little of my not so precious time, perhaps. Anyway, there are two ways to become a member. You have the option to obtain the "Preferred Status" or the "Basic Status". Clearly, I chose the "Preferred Status" wherein you are highly prioritized to get emails containing opportunities than with "Basic Status". To obtain the "Preferred Status", you are given the option to write a blog post about their website, or to place a banner or a button on your sidebar. Well, you know what I did. If you are interested just click on the banner and it will take you to the website I'm talking about. Sign up now and be among the first to know.

Little Angel At Two Months

My sweet tempered little angel is now exactly two months old. Early this morning we went to her pediatrician for her scheduled immunization. She's very brave for not crying out loud when the needle was injected. She now weighs 6kg, almost double her birth weight which is 3.4kg. She can now lift her head and flash that pretty smile of hers in which we are all certainly crazy about.

As you remember, I monitored my little angel's weekly development during my pregnancy with the help of Babycenter. I'm glad I can still do so now. Here's what Babycenter says of my two month old baby.

How your baby's growing:

Your baby can tell the difference between familiar voices and other sounds, and he's becoming a better listener. He can also show you that he's in tune with his environment. Notice how he looks to see where certain noises are coming from.

An ongoing conversation (although seemingly one-sided) can help your baby develop his sense of place. He may even watch your mouth as you talk, fascinated by how it all works. You'll be amazed by his ability to communicate with a growing repertory of coos (musical, vowel-like sounds), smiles, and unique cries to express his different needs.

MM: Sweet Child O' Mine

Here's my entry for this week. Happy Music Monday everyone! Enjoy!

Sweet Child O' Mine
Guns N Roses

She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I'd stare too long
I'd probably break down and cry

Sweet child o' mine
Sweet love of mine

She's got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place
Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder
And the rain
To quietly pass me by

Sweet child o' mine
Sweet love of mine

Where do we go
Where do we go now
Where do we go
Sweet child o' mine
