Ukay-Ukay is a used clothing that you dig deep into a pile and although I don't really mind wearing one, I rarely go to the Ukay store because I just don't have that much patience to rummage into the pile. However, my friend was able to convince me to do so last week during the Tuna Festival and I was not sorry since I had a few fabulous finds at less than a dollar.
Actually, Ukay stores are becoming a trend here since it is where you can find signature clothes, bags, shoes, silk ties and other accessories at the lowest price. It may sound icky wearing clothes previously worn by strangers but the process of boiling and using Lysol fights the cringe at the thought of wearing second hand clothes. Also, there is always the thrill of looking for a great find at the cheapest and most affordable price. What is more challenging is how much you can use your charm to ask the store owner for a discount, which by the way I didn't get. But I got lots of freebies. Charm to the max, eh? Hahaha.
